10. North Face Black Coat w/o the sleeves. So simply designed but classic, and gangsta might I add.

9. Creative Recreation Brwn/Beige Shoes. They different and refreshing to the eye.

8. Apple MacBook Air. They gotta have the sexiest computers out there._.

7. Google Homepage. Has to be the number one visited web page each and every day.

6. Blackberry. Even though I think these phones are a little complicated they target everyone, President Barack got one! I mean damn.

5. Louis Vuitton handbag. It was sexy points. Sexy points will be defined later and put into my definition page. Louis Vuitton never needs commercials, their brand is planted solid.

4. Jay-Z. I know he is a person but he can certainly be called a brand. This man has his own color, liquor, clothing line, and Beyonce. Everybody jocking Jay-Z. The man is a living legend and I’ll tell you why, because everybody wanna be “Jay” and “Jay” still alive.

3. Nike shoes. Nike beats every other shoe brand, they are somewhat a monopoly. I need to know who has not ever owned a pair.

2. Jordan apparel: bookbag. Everything Jordan produces, you can tell that the creative team put time and effort into everything they do. Nothing was just because.

1. Duh na na, duh na na. ESPN. Sportscenter: Top 10 Plays. #1 brand for today that I seen. How can you not like Sportscenter?

Top 10 Things of 1/30/09

10. Flowers.

I got admit they was nice, even though they were stitched on jeans.

9. Twizzlers.

My favorite candy hands down.

8. New Shoes.

Ain’t nothing like new shoes or even some shoes that you are or want to purchase. I am a male and obviously have a problem.

7. New Coat.

This made the list because it matched the shoes perfectly. I mean perfect!

6. President Obama.

I know I am a day late but I really dont have time to watch the news all day. But Obama signed a bill that has made fair wages for male and female a law. No more same job and less pay just because of your gender.

5. Joy.

My mom was so happy, and I bet every other woman was too.

4. Patience.

I was always told it was a virtue. Good things come to those who wait, and today was the day for women.

3. Hugs.

What I pictured my mom and grandmother doing after seeing the bill passed. So it is something I saw.

2. Tears.

Tears of joy.

1. History.

Even a day late its History, or HerStory. My President is Black! So everyday is also history.

Top 10 Things of 1/29/09

10. Computer Screen.

All sizes 13in. 15 and 17in. Either way its a screen that is slowly but surely worsening my vision.

9. Armory.

The weirdest, probably oldest, and most confusing building on campus. So far a class there each semester.

8. Coats.

You can tell so much from a person just by looking at their coat. I can usually get age, cleanliness factor and swagger.

7. Stop.

In sign form. In face form. In body language form. Stop is universal.

6. Trainer.

My trainer cool. She a female. She hot. But she be busting my ass.

5. Weights.

I hate them now. I will love them later…I guess.

4. Arc.

The Arc, I just wonder how people made it before it was built. I came to this school at the right time.

3. Basketball.

No other better feeling sport accessorie. Holding it just makes me feel better.

2. Cell Phone.

My sidekick. Literally called the sidekick, but by me the kick or the kicka. It’s my homie 4 Life!

1. Da Court.

My field of of dreams, though they might be delayed, they will never die.

10. My iPod. It has been broken for months!

9. Love. Winter makes everybody fall in love.

8. Hate. It’s too cold for smiles! LOL

7. Beautiful Smile. Her smile makes me smile.

6. Danger Sign. It read “Danger: Randy’s Room”

5. Rubber Bands. My wristbands.

4. Cash. Tired of plastic as of now.

3. Empty Gas Tank. Gas is cheap now, so there is no excuse, I know. Roommate!

2. Ticket. The meters make the University so much money!

1. Achievement. Progress in workout, feels so good!

Response: “I Walk Into a White Room” Twyla Tharp

The portion of Twyla Tharp’s “I Walk Into a White Room” reading was an inspiring one. It basically is letting everyone know that anyone can be creative. That creativity is not a medal that’s handed out, but she is saying that some people are better with creativity than others. This is because people do not approach creativity the right way. Tharp states that through repetition/practice, time, effort, and devotion, that you will never be threatened by another blank page or canvas. After reading her novel you should not be afraid of walking into a white room ever again.

I procrastinate on about everything that I do. I know that it’s not good but I am making changes as we speak. This week I just learned that people who think they do their best work under pressure are living a facade, they don’t, or I don’t. Even though I must admit I have done some great task under pressure.

My daily routines are class, lunch, class, workout, down time, which is usually more work. I try to maintain a schedule and also manage a to do list. My sidekick is like my agent or manager, its keep me updated on everything that is on my agenda and that may be on the horizon.

My favorite part of the excerpt from Tharp’s reading was the “Touch of God” part. I honestly believe that I have this in a couple of skills. But a couple of other people who I think have that touch are President Barack Obama and LeBron James, just to name a few. President Obama has the charisma and the voice unlike any other President ever. When he speaks you just know that he was meant to be president. I know he puts in so many hours in preparing his speeches, but that kiss from God is what started him off. LeBron James came out the womb 5’6. He definitely has the kiss from God, he choose the right paths and became what he is today. Unbelievable training regiments and hard work helped him to make his place in history.

Literacy

What is literacy?
Literacy is defined as being able to read and write according to wordnet.princeton.edu of Princeton University. To me literacy is that but more. To be fully able to understand what you read and write you also have to comprehend what you read and write. You have to understand what you are about to say and write. Anyone after learning how to spell and sound out words can write a sentence. But what does it mean without comprehension of the statement. Literacy is fundamental and needed, without it people would be wasting a lot more oxygen, and its not like enough is already being wasted from people just talking and writing because they can but not saying anything. Cherish literacy, some people would kill for it.
