Inspirations…
Role Model/Heroes: My Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
My President. Shawn Carter. King James. Derrick Pooh Rose. CP3. Superman.
Books:The Bible. Rolling Thunder Hear My Cry. Watson’s Go to Birmingham 1963. Maniac McGee. The Giver. Catcher in the Rye.
Movies: Enemy of the State. Menace II Society. Micheal Jordan to the Max. He Got Game. Space Jam. Training Day. Glory. Gladiator.
Music: Muzik in all different forms has inspired my life, that’s from infomercials to soundtrack. Enya from Gladiator OST is close to the top and also original theme song from the movie Glory.
People: My Family. Listed in my Inspiration Box
Events: All of our games. Isn’t the game of life when you think about it?
All of these events inspired me but if had to pick one it would be Maniac McGee at this time. It was like one of the first books I read in my life that made me actually sit back and think. It made me believe that adversity is going to arise but you can always get through it. The approaches were simple and it applied to me, I was in I think 6th grade, so I can say they had their target audience down. The author painted a picture for me in every event of the story. It was never a dull moment, it kept me captivated. Hopefully I can have the same effect with my work to my audiences.
